Bridge Maintenance on I-90 in Cleveland

 

On December 14, 2007, the NOACA Governing Board approved the following regarding this project:

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12’s 2009 Major Bridge Program.

Current Conditions: I-90 is functionally classified as an urban principal arterial interstate. The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph) and the average daily traffic (ADT) is 134,650 vehicles per day (1996 count). GCRTA operates flyer service along this segment.

Proposed Project: This project involves jack and reset of the west truss spans of the I-90 (Innerbelt) Bridge in Cleveland. The estimated total construction cost of the project is $1,100,000. Ninety percent ($990,000) of the cost will be funded with Major Bridge funds. ODOT will fund the ten-percent ($110,000) non-federal share. The sponsor estimates the project can be awarded in State Fiscal Year 2011.

  • This project promotes NOACA’s Connections 2030 Plan Goal # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio Goal # 1 (System Preservation and Management) and 4 (Transportation Safety).
  • Move for committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
Regional Transportation System (RTS) Team:
  • This bridge has a General Appraisal rating of 4, which is in serious condition.
