Bellaire Road Bridge Improvement

 

The NOACA Governing Board approved the following projects for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) by adopting Resolution No. 2002-075 on December 13, 2002.

Title: Bridge Replacement on Bellaire Road in Cleveland
Sponsor: Cuyahoga County Engineer
Estimated Total Cost: $1,861,250
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO)

History/Background:
The Bellaire Road bridge over Big Creek in Cleveland has been approved for CEAO-administered Surface Transportation Program (STP)/local bridge (LBR) program funds.

Current Conditions:
The Bellaire Road bridge spans Big Creek, northeast of Memphis Avenue, in Cleveland. The average daily traffic is 12,684 vehicles (1999 count). The bridge is 38' wide with a pavement width of 27'. Bellaire Road is a minor arterial.

Proposed Project:
This project involves the replacement of the Bellaire Road bridge. The total construction cost is estimated at $1,861,250. The bridge will be constructed with CEAO LBR funds (100 percent). Construction will be programmed for beyond SFY 2005 (i.e. SFY 2007). The project would be administered locally.

The project serves an urban core community and environmental justice (EJ) populations using auto and transit.
