Name: Resurfacing SR 83 in Medina County Sponsor: ODOT 3 Estimated Total Cost: $950,000 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 3's two-lane resurfacing program.
Current Conditions: SR-83 (Avon Lake Road) is a two-lane road. It is functionally classified as a rural minor arterial. The average daily traffic (ADT) along SR-83 varies between 4,400 and 6,850 vehicles per day (1997 count).
Proposed Project: This project involves resurfacing 13.6 miles of SR-83, from 0.08 mile north of Willow Road to the Medina/Lorain County Line in Harrisville Township, Lodi, Chatham Township and Litchfield Township.
The total construction cost is estimated to be $950,000. Eighty percent ($760,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with ODOT District 3's allocation of Surface Transportation Program (S/STP) funds. ODOT 3 will provide the twenty percent ($190,000) non-federal share and prepare plans in-house. Construction is expected to occur in SFY 2005.
