Pavement Surface Treatments on SR-2 in Cleveland

 

The NOACA Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) by adopting Resolution No. 2003-049 on September 12, 2003.

Title: Pavement Surface Treatments on SR-2 in Cleveland

Estimated Total Cost: $1,980,000
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT

History/Background:
This project is included in ODOT District 12’s 10 Year District Pavement Program.

Current Conditions:
In this project area SR-2 is functionally classified as a principal arterial. The legal speed limit is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies from 44,080 to 54,750 vehicles per day (2000 count). Part of the project length serves GCRTA’s express bus routes (all #39s).

Proposed Project:
This project involves pavement surface treatments on SR-2, from the Main Avenue Bridge to the Innerbelt Curve, in Cleveland. Eighty percent ($1,584,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded from National Highway System (NH) funds. ODOT will fund the 20% ($396,000) non-federal share. This project would be awarded by June 2006.

  • This project meets NOACA’s Framework For Action 2025 Plan Goal # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s “Access Ohio” Goal # 1 (System Preservation and Management).
  • Recommend approval of this preservation action.
  • This project is located in an Urban Core Community
  • Move for committee and public review in order to obtain comments.

NOACA has not received unsupportive comments from local governments about this project.

NOACA has received no comments from the public on this project.
