The NOACA Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) by adopting Resolution No. 2003-049 on September 12, 2003.
Title: Bridge Work on SR-17 (Libby Road) in Maple Heights Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 12 Estimated Total Cost: $1,446,500 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT
History/Background: This bridge project is included in ODOT District 12’s SFY 2007 Bridge Program.
Current Conditions: SR-17 is functionally classified as a minor arterial. SR-17 is four lanes with a fifty-two-foot pavement with sidewalks six feet (6’) wide. The average daily traffic (ADT) on SR-17 is 14,180 vehicles per day (2000 count). The speed limit is 35 miles per hour (mph). GCRTA’s circulator bus route #802 runs along SR-17 in the project area.
Proposed Project: This project involves overlaying the deck and painting a bridge located on SR-17 (Libby Road), over Norfolk Southern railroad in the City of Maple Heights. The estimated construction cost is $1,446,500. Eighty percent of the construction cost ($1,157,200) will be funded with State Surface Transportation Program (S/STP) funds. ODOT will fund twenty percent of the construction cost ($289,300). The project is expected to be awarded in April 2007.
