Name: Resurfacing SR-113 in Erie and Lorain Counties Sponsor: ODOT 3 Estimated Total Cost: $1,856,000 Proposed Source of Federal Funds: ODOT
History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 3's two-lane resurfacing program.
Current Conditions: SR-113 (Milan Elyria Road) is a two-lane road. It is functionally classified as a rural major collector (from the Lorain County line to Baumhart Road) and an urban minor arterial (from Baumhart Road to the South Amherst east corporation line). The average daily traffic (ADT) along the portion of SR-113 in Lorain County varies between 4,050 to 9,300 vehicles per day (1997 count).
Proposed Project: This project involves resurfacing approximately twenty-four miles of SR-113 (Milan Elyria Road) in Erie County and Lorain County. The project limits extend from US-250 to the Erie/Lorain County Line (18.82 miles), in Milan Township, Milan, Berlin Township, Berlinville, Florence Township, Florence Village and Birmingham.
The Lorain County portion of SR-113 extends from the Erie/ Lorain County Line to the South Amherst east corporation line (ECL) in Henrietta Township, New Russia Township and South Amherst Village.
The total construction cost is estimated to be $1,856,000. Eighty percent ($1,484,800) of the construction (C) cost will be funded with ODOT District 3's allocation of Surface Transportation Program (S/STP) funds. ODOT 3 will provide the twenty percent ($371,200) non-federal share and prepare plans in-house. Construction is expected to occur in SFY 2005.
