On June 8, 2007, the NOACA Governing Board approved the following regarding this project:

Title: Installation of Guardrails along Various County Roads in Medina County
Sponsor: Medina County Engineer
Estimated Total Cost: $300,000
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: County Engineers Association of Ohio (CEAO)
History/Background: On December 18, 2006, the Medina County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. 06-1158, to install new guardrail and repair or replace existing guardrails on various Medina County roads to improve safety for motorists. The CEAO has approved this project for county-attributable Surface Transportation Program (C/STP) funding in state fiscal year (SFY) 2010. The County Engineer qualified for the use of 100% federal safety funding for the installation of guardrails to be applied to the routes.
Current Conditions: Not applicable.
Proposed Project: The project involves replacement or repair of existing guardrail, or installing new guardrail in locations where it is needed. Roads that will receive new guardrails will be determined during project development. The estimated total cost, provided by the sponsor, is $300,000. The project will be funded 100% with CEAO funds. The Medina County Engineer intends to administer this project. The Medina County Engineer will use its design standards for federal-aid resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation (3R) projects. The estimated award date is August 2009.
