History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 12's SFY 2003 pavement program.

Current Conditions: IR-77 is functionally classified as a principal arterial.   The speed limit on this facility is 55 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) varies between 85,450 and 114,050 vehicles per day (1998 count).

Proposed Project:
This project involves surface treatments along I-77 (excluding bridges) from Pershing Avenue to I-90 in Cleveland.

Ninety percent ($720,000) of the construction (C) cost will be funded from Interstate Maintenance (IM) funds.  ODOT will fund the ten percent ($80,000) non-federal share for construction programmed for SFY 2003.

Staff Comment (Summary):
Project will satisfy Goal # 1 (System Preservation and Management) of ODOT's Access Ohio and Goals # 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and #7 (Reinvest in the Urban Core Areas and Manage Investments to Implement Plan Goals) of NOACA's Framework for Action 2025.  The project will provide improved access to Title VI/Environmental Justice (EJ) populations to the extent that they own and can drive automobiles.  Move for committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
