Regional Transportation System (RTS) Team:
  • There are 12 bridges are listed for repairs in ODOT District 12. Seven in Cuyahoga County, four in Lake County and one in Geauga County. The project information lists the repairs as New Wearing Surfaces on various structures and miscellaneous repairs to five bridges. The type of work to be preformed on each bridge is not specified.
  • The general appraisals on these bridges range from 5-7 which is fair to good condition.
  • The floor ratings are 1 or 2 on all structures which may indicate minor problems.
  • 1= minor transverse cracks (spacing 20’ or more)
  • 2= Transverse cracks evident on the bottom side (spacing 10’ to 20’) some could be leaking. Some spalling may be present 1-10% of total deck area.
  • Of the 12 bridges, five have PCS (Protective Coating System) ratings which range between 4 and 9 This is a scale between 0-9, where zero means greater than 50% of the PCS has failed and nine means there is no evidence of corrosion the PCS system is fully intact.
