Title: I-90 Preventive Maintenance in Sheffield Village and Avon

History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 3’ Pavement Program.
Current Conditions: I-90 is functionally classified as an urban interstate. It is a four-lane facility with lanes twelve feet (12’) wide. The legal speed limit is 60 miles per hour (mph). The average daily traffic (ADT) ranges from 59,790 to 61,690 vehicles per day (NOACA Lorain County Highway Traffic Counts, published May 2006).
Proposed Project: This project involves preventive maintenance along 4.72 miles of I-90, from the bridge over French Creek to the Lorain County/Cuyahoga County line, in Sheffield Village and Avon. The total construction cost is estimated to be $1,191,098. Ninety percent ($1,071,988) of the construction (C) cost will be funded from district’s Preservation (highways & bridges) Program. ODOT will fund the ten percent ($119,110) non-federal share. The project’s estimated award date is October 2008.

Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Team:
- This project promotes NOACA’s Connections 2030 Plan Goal 3 (Preserve and Improve the Efficiency of the Transportation System) and ODOT’s Access Ohio Goal 1 (System Preservation and Management).
- Move for committee and public review in order to obtain comments.
Regional Transportation System (RTS) Team:
- This has a 2006 pavement condition rating (PCR) of 97-77 (Very Good-Good) and is projected to be 60-56 (Fair-Poor) in 2009.
