The Governing Board approved the following project for inclusion in the TIP by adopting Resolution No. 2000-078 on 12/08/00

History/Background: This project is to be funded with ODOT District 3, Bridge Allocation of Bridge Replacement/Rehabilitation (BR) funds and NOACA-attributable Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds.
Current Conditions: SR-611 (Henderson Drive) is functionally classified as a principal arterial. The average daily traffic (ADT) on SR-611 is 14,210 vehicles per day. There is no LCT service on the route that is subject to this improvement.
Proposed Project: This project involves preventative maintenance to a bridge on SR-611, east of SR-57 (Broadway), over the Black River, in Lorain. The preventive maintenance includes minor repairs, spot painting and seismic retrofitting. The total estimated cost of this work ($1,250,000) will be funded with eighty percent ($1,000,000) BR funds and twenty percent ($250,000) ODOT funds. Additionally, the project will involve repairs to the embankment slip at the north roadway approach of the bridge. This work will include the construction of new 2.5:1 side slopes with granular embankment, new curbs, new sidewalks and new closed drainage system. The existing pavement will be salvaged and resurfaced. The total estimated cost of this work ($1,150,000) will be funded with eighty percent ($920,000) STP funds and twenty percent ($230,000) Lorain County Engineer funds. Construction will be scheduled for SFY 2003.
Staff Comment (Summary): Recommend approval of the project for inclusion in SFY 2003 of the SFY 2000 – 2003 TIP since it is a preservation action.
