Resolution No. 2008-037 Plan and TIP Amendment
Title: Replace Deck of Bridge on SR-301 in the Village of Sheffield
Sponsor: Ohio Department of Transportation-District 3
PID No: 80199
Estimated Total Cost: $2,700,000
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)
History/Background: This project is included in ODOT District 3’s bridge program
Current Conditions: SR-301 (Abbe Road) is functionally classified as an urban minor arterial, and is a two-lane facility. The bridge structure is approximately 229 feet long. The existing deck of the bridge on SR-301 is two lanes, twelve feet wide, with shoulders two feet wide. The pavement width is 28 feet, toe to toe of one foot-wide parapet sidewalks. The width of the existing right-of-way is 60 feet. The average daily traffic is 8,820 vehicles per day with about five percent trucks (2005 count). The posted speed limit is 45 miles per hour.
Proposed Project: The project involves a bridge deck replacement on SR-301, over I-90, in the Village of Sheffield. The proposed bridge deck will remain two lanes, but with shoulders three feet wide. The pavement width will be 30 feet (toe to toe of sidewalks, five feet wide, on each side of the bridge only). The right-of-way width will remain 60 feet. The total estimated construction cost is $2,700,000. Ninety percent ($2,430,000) of the construction cost will be funded from District 3’s Preservation (highways & bridges) Program. Ten percent ($270,000) of the construction cost will be provided by ODOT. This project has an award date of October 1, 2011.
