GCRTA – FY 2005 Capital and Operating Program

 

The NOACA Governing Board approved the following project as a candidate to be amended to the NOACA Transportation Plan by adopting Resolution No. 2005-025 and as a proposed amendment to the TIP by adopting Resolution 2005-026 on June 10, 2005.

Sponsor:  Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA)
Estimated Total Cost: $80,983,302
Proposed Source of Federal Funds: Federal Transit Administration (FTA)

History/Background:  GCRTA’s original state fiscal year (SFY) 2005 capital and operating program is listed in the NOACA SFY 2004 – 2009 Transportation Improvement Program. The FTA formula funding allocations were announced and GCRTA revised their program to reflect these allocations.

Proposed Project: Following are descriptions of the projects listed in GCRTA’s FY 2005 program. GCRTA is applying for various sources of funding (Section 5307, Section 5309, etc.) depending on the type of project (bus, rail, operating, etc.).

  • The Section 5307 capital formula projects include Bus Improvement Program, Passenger Enhancements and North Olmsted Park-n-Ride Lot.
  • The Section 5309 Rail Formula projects include Brookpark Tower to Airport Track (Signals), E. 120th Substation Replacement, Signaling of Moreland Pocket Track, Tokyu Interior Modification LRV (Light rail vehicle) Spare Parts, University Circle Design, Capital Maintenance (Project specific).
  • The Section 5309 Bus Discretionary State Earmark projects include East Side Transit Center, Paratransit Improvement Program (Senior Center Brooklyn).
  • The Section 5309 New Start Earmark projects include Euclid Corridor Transportation Project.
  • Operating Projects include Elderly and Disabled Fare Assistance and Capitalized Maintenance.
